Privacy and Confidentiality at Jintara
Your privacy and anonymity sit at the center of how we work. We know that contacting a rehab about addiction or mental health is sensitive.
Who we are
1.1 Jintara Rehab and Wellness Center is owned and operated by Lanna Healthcare Co. Ltd., a company registered under the laws of Thailand.
1.2 In this policy, "Jintara Rehab", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Lanna Healthcare Co. Ltd. and the Jintara Rehab and Wellness Center program in Chiang Mai.
1.3 For most activities described in this policy, Jintara Rehab is the "data controller". That means we decide how and why your personal information is used.
Scope of this policy
2.1 This policy covers personal information that we collect when you:
- Use our website and online forms
- Contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp, social media, or live chat
- Ask about admission for yourself or someone else
- Attend Jintara Rehab as a client
- Interact with us as a referrer, employer, or business partner
2.2 It applies to both website visitors and clients. Some parts, such as health information, apply mainly to people who go through our clinical assessment and treatment program.
2.3 This policy sits alongside our Terms and Conditions and any admission forms, consents, or contracts that you sign with us. If those documents say something different about a specific situation, the signed document will usually take priority for that point.
Our privacy principles
3.1 We work with a few simple principles:
- We collect only what we need
- We use your information for clear, legitimate reasons
- We keep it as accurate and up to date as we reasonably can
- We keep it for no longer than we need to
- We protect it with practical security and strict confidentiality
- We never sell your personal information
3.2 All staff at Jintara Rehab sign confidentiality agreements. Clients also sign confidentiality clauses as part of their admission paperwork, to protect the privacy of other clients.

- Partner hospitals, labs, and other healthcare providers involved in your care
- Payment providers and banks, for example to confirm successful payment
4.4 Special category information: Because we are a rehab and mental health provider, some of the information we collect is sensitive. This can include health data, substance use history, mental health diagnoses, medication history, and information about self harm or risk. We only collect this type of information where it is necessary for assessment, treatment, safety, or legal reasons.

Legal bases for using your information
6.1 Depending on the situation, we rely on different legal bases for processing personal information, including:
- Your consent, for example when you ask us to contact you or opt in to receive updates
- Contract, for example when we agree an admission and need to use information to deliver the program
- Legal obligation, for example health record keeping rules or requirements from Thai authorities
- Vital interests, for example when we need to share information to protect you or another person from serious harm
- Legitimate interests, for example basic analytics, security, and quality improvement, where your rights are not overridden

Where your information is stored
9.1 Clinical records are usually stored in Thailand, in paper and electronic systems that meet local licensing requirements.
9.2 Some electronic systems and service providers may store data on servers outside Thailand. This can include email, cloud storage, website analytics, and communication tools.
9.3 Where information is transferred internationally, we aim to use providers that apply recognised security standards and data protection safeguards.
How we protect your information
10.1 We take practical steps to keep your information secure, including:
- Staff confidentiality agreements and training
- Access controls, so only staff who need particular information can see it
- Secure storage for paper files
- Password and permission controls for electronic systems
- Regular review of who has access to what information
10.2 No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and to respond quickly if a problem happens.
How long we keep information
11.1 We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law and professional rules.
11.2 Clinical records are kept for the period set by Thai health regulations and Ministry of Public Health rules. This is usually many years after discharge.
11.3 Enquiry records and basic contact details may be kept for a shorter period, for example up to a few years, to allow reasonable follow up and quality review.
11.4 When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymise it.
Your rights and choices
12.1 Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete some information, for example where we no longer need it and there is no legal reason to keep it
- Object to certain types of processing, such as direct marketing
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on your consent, for example email updates
12.2 Some rights are limited by health law, safety duties, or record keeping requirements. For example, we may need to keep some clinical records even if you would prefer us to delete them.
12.3 To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request.
Children
13.1 Jintara Rehab is an adult-focused program and our website is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent from a parent or legal guardian.
13.2 If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without the right consent, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete that information.
Changes to this policy
14.1 We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law, regulation, or how we deliver our services.
14.2 The most current version will always be available on our website. We suggest that you check this page from time to time to make sure you are happy with any changes.
